Located in Washington, DC, Stokes & Company, P.C. has been providing auditing, tax, accounting and management consulting services since 1980. Stokes and Company is well known in the accounting profession for delivering only the highest quality service to its clients. What distinguishes us most from our competition is our ability to put our firm's partners out in the field where they can work firsthand with your organization and staff.
Our practice is concentrated in two areas - not-for-profit organizations and government contractors. Stokes and Company has worked with hundreds of not-for-profit organizations since 1980 and this industry represents over one-half of our practice. We also provide services to individuals, closely held corporations, estates and trusts, and publicly held corporations.
We maintain membership in the AICPA's Private Companies Practice Section. As members of the Section, our practice is subject to a comprehensive review every three years. We are proud that we have successfully completed every peer review conducted with no letter of comment since we became members of the Section. The firm is a member of the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center and the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and has established policies and procedures special to the firm's governmental audit practice and its ERISA Employee Benefit Plan practice to comply with the applicable professional standards and the membership requirements of the respective centers.
Our staff also maintain memberships in the Greater Washington Association of CPAs, the Maryland Society of Accountants, the Maryland Association of CPAs, the Northern Virginia Association of CPAs, the Washington Association Financial Management Roundtable and the American Society of Association Executives.
